The orchestral sound of MGS2's soundtrack, directed by world-famous composer, Harry Gregson-Williams impressed Metal Gear series creator, Hideo Kojima so much that he wanted him back for MGS3's score. Gregson-Williams said he'd only be interested if the game was set in the Amazon Rainforest. Fortunately Kojima-san had already planned to set the game in a jungle and he pretended that this was because of Gregson-William's suggestion. Once flattered and on board to make music with Kojima Productions again, Kojima-san told him the truth. Well, it hasn't stopped him being involved in MGS music since!
MGS3 has one major soundtrack available in a range of different covers. The tracks are almost the same for all versions and disc 1 (of 2) is a special camouflage key disc which, when put into your PS2, can give you extra camouflage for MGS3.
